Tax Preparation and Filing

We know that your employees’ financial wellness situation is top of mind for you – and them! To provide additional financial wellness protection, we have partnered with TurboTax^® to offer your employees tax preparation and filing services. With TurboTax, you are enhancing your current initiatives and supporting an annual employee need.

Our offering provides coverage for a variety of tax filing needs. Participants can prepare and file one individual or joint federal and state tax return with any TurboTax “Do It Yourself” online product at no additional cost. TurboTax’s “Do It Yourself” solutions fit the needs of any employee. TurboTax is not a corporate affiliate of MetLife Legal Plans.

Reproductive Assistance Law 20 hours

With Reproductive Assistance, you can offer your employees 20 hours of legal services related to reproductive assistance. With the evolving legislation around healthcare, employees who are expanding their families in non-traditional ways can benefit by having an advocate on their side. Reproductive assistance matters include surrogacy, egg donation, sperm donation, gamete donation, embryo donation and embryo adoption.

MetLife Legal Plans network attorneys can review and prepare any agreements or documents, file pleadings or other documentation to obtain orders or decrees, and provide representation at any hearing or other proceeding related to the matter as may be required by law.

Plans with High – Low options

Your employer worked with MetLife Legal Plans to offer a choice of two plan designs for your legal plan benefit. The higher-premium plan is intended for employees who want the most robust coverage possible. Our more affordable plan provides essential legal services for employees seeking a basic benefits option. Once enrolled, you are committing to 12 months of premium payment on the plan you select.

Getting started is easy. You simply choose an attorney in any area of practice from our network, which is available online or via one of our call center representatives. Provide your name and your employer’s name to the attorney when you make an appointment. It’s that simple.

You can speak to our network attorneys face-to-face or by phone, or you can email legal questions online to our Attorney e-Panel and receive an answer within 24 hours. And for certain legal matters, your attorney can represent you in court without you having to make an appearance.

Our network attorneys are there for you whenever you need advice on personal legal matters or representation on a number of legal services covered under your plan. You can have confidence that you’ve got an expert on your side for as long as you need them.

Yes, you can use any attorney you’d like. If you choose an attorney outside of our network, we’ll reimburse you for covered services based on a set fee schedule.⁴
